Suggestions on how to reduce your weight after
Pregnancy
One of the fastest and most comfortable ways to reduce your weight after pregnancy is
to make a decision to breastfeed. Mother Nature gives an easy out.
Breastfeeding will contract the uterus which will help your uterus go back to its pre-pregnancy
size. Also, breastfeeding will burn up from 500 to 800 additional calories a day.

Eat a diet of mostly fruits and vegetables. Since you are no longer eating for
two, adjust the amount of calories you eat back to your pre-pregnancy calorie intake.
Eat fruits and vegetables, but reduce the amount of carbohydrates and sweets you eat,
particularly chocolate (if you are breastfeeding, since the caffeine in the chocolate isn’t good for the
baby.) Eat low fat meat. Keep healthy snacks available in your refrigerator and kitchen
cabinets. This will help to reduce your calorie intake and help you to lose your extra pregnancy
pounds.
Visit your doctor and see if it is ok for you to start a workout routine. If it
is ok for you to workout then start by stretching so you won’t risk pulling any muscles or cramping
up.
After you finish your stretching then warm up before you start your workout
routine. When you start your workout, start off slowly, especially if you had a
C-section.
If you are breastfeeding, you may chose to workout after breastfeeding as your breasts will be
less full and it will be more comfortable for you.
Drink about 8 glasses water a day. Beside being healthy for your body it will also
give you a feeling a fullness and reduce the amount of calories that you eat.
Walking is a very good way to tone your body and it will help you to lose those unwanted pounds.
You may choose to bring the baby in a carriage or if you have a babysitter walk alone and when you walk,
walk at a faster pace to burn more calories.
Keep a positive attitude and know that it took 9 months to
put the pregnancy weight on and it will take up to 9 months to take it off.
